The Septenaries: Five Audio Seminars with Manly P. Hall
Hall, Manly P. The Septenaries: Five Audio Seminars with Manly P. Hall. The Philosophical Research Society, 1993. Audiocassette. A five-cassette recording of Hall's Septenaries lectures, published by the LA-based organization he founded in 1934 and featuring a vivid cover illustration by J. Augustus Knapp, redrawn from an 1891 Turin edition of the Divine Comedy and originally created for The Secret Teachings of All Ages. Knapp also collaborated with Hall on a tarot deck and several other books and is known for the proto-psychedelic drawings he made to accompany the publications of eclectic medicine proponent John Uri Lloyd, including his 1895 novel, Etidorhpa (Aphrodite spelled backwards), an early work of occult science fiction which saw such success that it inspired the founding of eponymous literary clubs across the US and numerous instances of parents naming their daughters after the book's title.
