The Anatomy of Witchcraft
Haining, Peter. Taplinger Publishing Company, 1972 (Book Club Ed.). Hardbound. Jacket design by Rus Anderson. A delightfully salacious study covering everything from J.-K. Huysmans's depiction of a Black Mass to the connections between the Manson Family and the Process Church, explored in detail by an author known for his talent for mingling fact and fiction (Haining insisted that Sweeney Todd was an actual historical figure). A copy of the book, notably, was annotated by David Berkowitz and sent to police officers investigating the Son of Sam case.
Tight spine has a slight lean. Clean, unmarked interior except for a former owner stamp to the front flyleaf and back paste-down. The front fore-edge side of the cover its bumped (around a quarter-inch), but very little shelf-wear otherwise. There are a few small chips, creases, and some areas of light soiling to the jacket. 222 pp. Featured Rare & Collectible.
