Diary of a Witch
Leek, Sybil. Prentice-Hall, 1968 (Book Club Ed.). Hardbound. The extraordinarily media-savvy Leek claimed to be descended from Molly Leigh, who in early 18th-century Staffordshire, UK, was accused by the local parson of sending her pet jackdaw to sit on the sign of the Turk's Head pub so as to make the beer turn sour. After Leigh's death, apparitions of her were reported, and in an attempt to prevent further hauntings, her still-living bird was inserted into her coffin. Leek, in keeping with the purported family tradition, tamed her own jackdaw, named Mr. Hotfoot Jackson.
Spine is tight, but has a very slight lean. Former owner name to front flyleaf, but interior is else clean and unmarked. No other notable wear to the book. Jacket has some edge-wear, small tears/chipping and areas of light soiling. 182 pp. Featured Rare & Collectible.
