A complicated figure who engineered everything from the first steerable heart catheter to the first Israeli rocket, Bentov also held patents for diet spaghetti, automobile brake shoes, EKG electrodes, and—as demonstrated by this book's mystic bent—a device to record the profound shift in heartbeat during meditation. FOIA-requested CIA documents show that the agency used Bentov's models as a primary source when researching remote viewing; the inventor died in 1979 in the notorious American Airlines Flight 191 crash outside of Chicago.
Both books have instances of notes—the Dutton's in ink and the Bantam's in pencil—to some areas of their interiors. Both have tight, square, uncreased spines. Some bumped corners and light edge-wear to the Dutton, but no other notable wear to either book. Featured Rare & Collectible.
