American Gigolo
Harris, Timothy. Delacorte Press, 1979 (Book CLub Ed.). Hardbound. A handsomely packaged film novelization, featuring calligraphic jacket design by David Gatti, and adapted from Paul Schrader's screenplay by Harris, a prolific generator of Hollywood buddy comedies (Trading Places, Brewster's Millions, Twins). The movie, notable for its Blondie-penned theme song, 'Call Me' and its male full-frontal nudity (a mainstream first and on-set improvisation), also helped launch the career of Giorgio Armani, who first fitted the film's iconic suits for John Travolta before the Saturday Night Fever actor bowed out and was replaced by Richard Gere.
Spine is tight, but has a slight lean. Former owner name to front flyleaf, but interior is else clean and unmarked. Only very gentle wear to the book. Jacket has some areas of edge-wear and subtle soiling. 179 pp. Fiction.
