DeLillo, Don. Elisabeth Sifton Books, 1985 (1st Ed., 1st Printing). Hardbound. Prolific Penguin designer Neil Stuart is perhaps best known for this iconic jacket with its low-contrast showcase of R. Hunter Middleton's dimensional Deco face, Umbra. Editor Elisabeth Sifton, who later in her career worked in executive positions at Alfred A. Knopf and Farrar and Straus and Giroux, was so widely admired, she was given a personal imprint at Viking Penguin in 1984, under which she published books including John Ashbery's A Wave, William Gaddis's Carpenter's Gothic, and this Great American Novel candidate by DeLillo.

Tight, square spine. Clean, unmarked interior. Some light foxing to the top edge and areas of light to moderate soiling to the boards. Metallic stamping to spine remains bright. Jacket has some light shelf-wear. 326 pp. Featured Rare & Collectible.
