The Panic in Needle Park
$40.00
Mills, James. Signet Books, 1967. Softbound. Another chic movie tie-in, written by the journalist who also zoomed out on the 'drug scene' with his investigative work The Underground Empire. Adapted for the screen by Joan Didion and her husband John Gregory Dunne, it is one of the rare movies to earn an X rating for non-sexual content. Several of its stills are blocked out on the cover, depicting Al Pacino in his feature film debut and enclosing the typeface that took the 1970s by storm: Neil Bold, also seen in promotional materials for everything from Deliverance to Dog Day Afternoon.
Tight, square, uncreased spine. Clean, unmarked interior. Some light edge-wear and areas of light soiling to the covers. 158 pp. Featured Rare & Collectible.
