Robbe-Grillet, Alain. Grove Press, 1977 (13th Printing). Softbound. An omnibus of two of the Nouveau Roman innovator's novels, presented beside critical essays by Bruce Morrissette, Roland Barthes, and Anne Minor. Translator Richard Howard (Camus's A Happy Death, Barthes's The Fashion System) was known for sharing his New York apartment with a large stuffed gorilla named Mildred and became more openly gay as he aged, once causing W. H. Auden to remark upon hearing Howard take offense at another poet's use of gay and Jewish slurs, 'My dear, I never knew you were Jewish!'

Tight, square, uncreased spine. Clean, unmarked interior. Light edge-wear. 279 pp. Mass-Market Paperbacks.
