The Adventures of Antoine Doinel: Four Screenplays by Truffaut
Truffaut, François . Simon and Schuster, 1971 (Later Printing). Softbound. Translated by Helen G. Scott. An anthology of four of the five Antoine Doinel screenplays (it was published before Truffaut's uneven 1979 divorce feature, Love on the Run) and illustrated with stills. Incredible cover design by Wendell Minor, which contrasts expressive lettering with an emotionless portrait of the director, plus fantastic interior design by Edith Fowler, including a title spread that connotes the twinning between Truffaut and actor Jean-Pierre Léaud (in his intro, Truffaut recounts being mistaken for Léaud in a Parisian cafe).
Tight, square, uncreased spine. A former owner name to the first blank leaf has been blacked out, but interior is else clean and unmarked. Lightly bumped corners and very gentle edge-wear. 320 pp. Cinema.
