Principia Discordia: or How I Found the Goddess and What I Did to Her When I Found Her
Malaclypse the Younger (Gregory Hill). Loompanics Unlimited, 1979 (Later Printing). Softbound. Intro by Robert Anton Wilson. Discordianism's 'bible' was first published in a five-copy edition in 1965, and would steadily increase the size of its runs over the next decade-plus before eventually being published by Loompanics in its most widely distributed form (the fourth/fifth edition). Its title is an oppositional riff on Isaac Newton's 1687 Principia Mathematica, setting the tone for the chaos-focused fringe religion as it folds in saints ranging from Don Quixote to Vonnegut's Bokonon and presents the reader with a card certifying its holder as 'Genuine and Authorized Pope'.
Tight, square, uncreased spine. Former owner inscription to the preface, but interior is else clean and unmarked. Covers have some areas of subtle soiling and buckling. 'Authorized Pope' card has some soiling. Featured Rare & Collectible.
