'Look long enough in a mirror and you will see Death at work,' proclaims the infernal chauffeur, Heurtebise (François Périer); Cocteau, himself, said, 'We watch ourselves grow old in mirrors. They bring us closer to death.' This French-language book was released the same year as the movie and includes stills capturing its incomparable special effects, including the aforementioned mirror, whose liquid surface was created using close-ups of a vat of mercury.
Spine is square and tight, but has some cosmetic buckling from where it has been glued tot he text block. There is a former owner inscription to the inside front cover, but interior is else clean and unmarked. Covers have edge-wear and areas of rubbing and soiling. 116 pp. Cinema.
