Steiger, Brad and Ron Warmoth. The Tarot. Award Books, 1969 (1st Award Printing). Softbound. 168 pp. Mass-Market Paperbacks. $25.
Rudhyar, Dane. The Practice of Astrology: As a Technique in Human Understanding. Penguin Books, 1970. Softbound. Cover design by David Barnett. 152 pp. Mass-Market Paperbacks. $25.
Two mass-market divination manuals published at the close of the 1960s. Steiger, a frequent Coast to Coast AM guest and author of a number of salacious works on the paranormal, collaborates with Tarot expert Warmoth on this Marseilles-centric exploration of the soothsayer's companion. And the once-neglected modernist composer and transpersonal astrology pioneer Rudhyar capitalizes, late in his career, on the rise of the New Age movement in the pages of this handsome Pelican.
Both books have tight, square spines; there is some light cosmetic creasing to that of the Steiger and Warmoth. Both have clean, unmarked interiors and a few small areas of gentle edge-wear and rubbing.
