Animus and Anima
Jung, Emma. Spring Publications, 1978 (6th Printing). Translated by Cary F. Baynes and Hildegard Nagel. Cover by Jan Luss. A key companion text to The Grail Legend (written with Marie-Louise von Franz), this exploration of the classic dualistic concept expertly bridges psychology and hermeticism. Early in his marriage to Emma, Sigmund Freud interpreted a series of Carl Jung's dreams as auguring the 'failure of a marriage for money' (Emma was a Swiss watch heiress); however, by the time of her death in 1955, Jung carved a commemorative stone reading, 'She was the foundation of my house'.
Spine is tight and square. There is some underlining in ink to the first several pages of text, but the rest of the book is unaffected. Some very light edge-wear, two bumped corners, and a small area of adhesive remainder to the back cover. 94 pp. Featured Rare & Collectible.
