Invisible Cities
Calvino, Italo. Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, 1978. Softbound. A scarce copy of the Harvest/HBJ edition of the Calvino classic featuring cover designer Arnold Skolnick's silvered Fibonacci-scape, as well as an incredible design to the interior, with architectural headings backed by deep drop-shadows. Published under the Helen and Kurt Wolff imprint (Kurt Wolff is known for 'discovering' Kafka and founding Pantheon Books), this translation is by prolific Italian translator William Weaver, who during his 50-year career, also produced English versions of works by Umberto Eco, Primo Levi, and Pier Paolo Pasolini.
Tight, square, uncreased spine. Clean, unmarked interior. Only very light shelf-wear, including subtle edge-wear and a couple small areas of gentle creasing to the back cover. 165 pp. Featured Rare & Collectible.
