Sirius, R.Y. and Somerst MauMau (Eds.). Sacred Cow Mutilators, 1985. The second issue of the Bay Area proto-cyberpunk magazine, founded in 1984 by Timothy Leary–collaborator and transhumanism proponent Sirius and featuring contributions by Ram Dass, Robert Anton Wilson, Terence McKenna, and many others. A beautiful design specimen covered by a mutant Mickey Mouse weilding an all-too-appropriate CIA-sponsored acid tab, and a glimpse at a fleeting but powerful aesthetic moment; the periodical was later renamed Reality Hackers before it eventually evolved into Mondo 2000 as it sharpened its focus on digital culture and pioneered the Photoshop-influenced style that would revolutionize the field.

Saddle-stitched binding remains sound. Clean, unmarked interior. Some moderate to heavy edge-wear, as well as some areas of light to moderate creasing to the covers. Oversized.
