The Philosophy of Hegel: A Systematic Exposition
Stace, W. T. Dover Publications, 1955. Softbound. Featuring a wonderful matte cover design by J. Lloyd Dixon, characterized by a solemn slab-serif and descending asymmetry, this mid-century edition of the 1924 classic of Hegelian interpretation includes a preface declaring, 'Thick black type has been used for the names of categories in the Logic and for the names of "notions" in the philosophy of spirit at that point where they first definitely emerge in the course of the logical deduction as fully completed categories or notions . . .' Stace wrote the book while employed by the Ceylon Civil Service and would go on to generate several works exploring mystic experience through the lenses of radical empiricism and the perennial philosophy.
