Living My Life, Volumes I and II
Goldman, Emma. Dover Publications, 1970. Softbound. Dover, beloved for its model of reissuing notable out-of-print titles in affordable but appealing editions, here produces a two-volume 'unabridged republication of the work originally published in 1931 by Alfred Knopf' by the anarchist celebrity who the back copy describes as 'a devastatingly honest woman, who spared herself as little as she spared anyone else.' Illustrated with monochrome plates and contrasting frontispieces depicting Goldman in slightly varying states of resolve, the cover design is by Theodore Menten, known for his prolific output as author/editor of many of Dover's art-historical monographs and decorative collections and clip-art anthologies.
Both volumes have tight, square spines with some cosmetic creasing. Both have clean, unmarked interiors, light foxing to the edges, and light to moderate edge-wear. There are vertical creases running halfway up the length of both books' front covers. EB.
