Kilner, Walter J. The Aura. Samuel Weiser, 1975 (3rd Printing). Softbound. Intro by Sibyl Ferguson. First published as The Human Atmosphere in 1911, Kilner's documentation of human energy fields was embraced by theosophists (including Arthur E. Powell in his The Etheric Double), and his aura-perceiving glasses, marketed as Kilner goggles, were advertised in esoteric periodicals up until the 1970s, possibly even inspiring John Carpenter's They Live. Kilner's original illustrations are included in this Weiser mass-market paperback edition, which features an appropriately ethereal front cover and back cover copy that proclaims that '[Kilner] discovered a lens painted with dicyanin, a coal-tar dye, would allow the eyes to perceive into the ultra-violet band.'
